The Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, invites applications for a position equivalent to a clinical instructor/lecturer in Small Animal Surgery. This position has a strong emphasis on clinical service, but also teaching and clinical research. The position is available based on the applicant’s availability.

The Clinic for Small Animal Surgery offers a Clinical instructor (Oberarzt) position available from January 1st, 2025. The position will have a strong emphasis on clinical service, but also teaching and research. Candidates are expected to have an ECVS/ACVS diploma or to be board eligible. The candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic team with five ECVS/ACVS surgeons.
The candidate is expected to rotate between the clinical services and to lead each clinical service with the support of senior faculties, to mentor residents, interns, and students. The candidate is also expected to support on-call backup during nights, weekends and holidays.
The Zurich Small Animal Teaching Hospital is a state of the art facility equipped with the most advanced equipment including biplanar fluoroscopy, 3 Tesla MRI, 16 slices CT scan, radiation therapy, minimally invasive equipment to perform laparoscopy, thoracoscopy and arthroscopy at the highest technical standard, force triad and advanced bipolar diathermy among others and a variety of implant systems for fracture fixation and joint replacement. The Small animal surgery clinic include three services: Orthopedics, Soft and Oncologic Surgery and Emergency Surgery.
